The latest round of onshore wind power auctions in Germany has resulted in a clear oversubscription and falling guaranteed remuneration levels, the country鈥檚 network agency BNetzA has . Bidders submitted projects with a total volume of 4,972 megawatts (MW) to the auction with a set volume of 3,443 MW. 鈥淭he auction for onshore wind turbines continues to see a high turnout,鈥 commented BNetzA head Klaus M眉ller, adding that this would result in lower support requirements. The average support level was 6.83 cents per kilowatt hour in the auction that ended on 1 May. The states with the most successful bids were North Rhine-Westphalia (1,002 MW), Lower Saxony (960 MW), and Hesse (379 MW).聽

M眉ller added that there was a new record in bids for a parallel innovation auction, which required bids that combine energy generation with storage options. 鈥淭he volume of bids was more than 2,000 MW for the first time. This shows that there is an unwavering interest in the market in the various forms of renewable energy generation,鈥 he argued. The auctioned volume was merely 486 MW. All bids were made for PV and storage combinations and received an average support of 6.15 ct/kWh.
