“Germany steps on the break”
Deutschlandfunk
The switch to auctions in the reformed Renewable 鶹 Act is reasonable, but the reform effectively puts the breaks on the amount of renewable development, writes Georg Ehring in a commentary for public broadcaster Deutschlandfunk. He argues a limit of 45 percent renewable share 2025 is much too low because coal and nuclear power must be phased out. “Germany once had a pioneering role and now, of all countries, steps on the brake.”
