E.ON CEO Johannes Teyssen calls the companyās split last year an āact of liberation,ā but according to an article by JĆ¼rgen Flauger in business daily Handelsblatt, it was an extremely expensive one. In a long analysis of the companyās balance sheet, Flauger says fossil spin-off Uniperās first year as in independent company was a success. But for the renewable E.ON, it was a ācriticallyā strenuous draw on capital resources, according to Flauger.
