German container shipping firm Hapag-Lloyd plans to reduce its CO鈧 emissions by 20 percent by 2020 compared with 2016 levels. Its aim is to help support a drive to halve emissions in the global shipping industry, reports Reuters. 鈥淲e have deliberately set a very ambitious goal for ourselves in terms of CO2 emissions because we view sustainability as self-evident, active involvement rather than lip service,鈥 said the company鈥檚 Senior Director of Sustainability Management J枚rg Erdmann in a press release.
