Germany鈥檚 economy is particularly sensitive to the effects of climate change in other regions of the globe because it is heavily dependent on exports, according to the country鈥檚 Federal Environment Agency (UBA). The agency鈥檚 first analysis of climate change effects on Germany鈥檚 international trading links shows that economic risks from impacts abroad will be at least as large as those stemming from the consequences within Germany. 鈥淚mpacts in other regions of the world can also cause considerable economic damage here - for example, if extreme weather events damage infrastructures and trade routes, impair agricultural production or even destroy entire harvests,鈥 said UBA president Maria Krautzberger.
